Welcome to the website of the UT Rifle and Pistol Club.


The club operates an indoor smallbore rifle/pistol range, located on the UT main campus, in Austin TX; and is open year-round to UT club members, Monday through Thursday evenings (6:30pm - 9pm).
Club membership consists of UT students, staff and faculty; as well as juniors who want to compete in 3 position air or .22, (courtesy of the Dean of Natural Sciences and the ROTC).
The club is headquartered in a 14-point, 50 foot indoor range; suitable for smallbore (.22 caliber), and air (.177 caliber) rifle and pistol training and/or competitions. Beginners are welcome and safety training is provided by our three coaches, all of whom are NRA-certified instructors. Most members have at least some of their own shooting equipment, but club equipment is also available for member use.

Phil Winsborough is the nationally rated U.T. smallbore team head coach, he is preceeded by Col. George McKenna.

The range is next door, and southeast of the Russell A. Steindam Hall (RAS), also known as the R.O.T.C building, opposite the parade grounds.




Landmarks due east of the parade grounds, is the large fountain (blue circle), and the 23rd st. turnaround.
The red square is the range.
Yellow areas show where some after-hours parking may be found, subject to restrictions.
Don't forget to lock your car and secure all valuables within!!!
The range has a water fountian, M/F restrooms, and security lockers for personal equipment (bring your own lock).
